Honoring Those Who Served
Veterans Freedom Park is a 12.6-acre memorial in Cary, North Carolina, honoring the men and women of every branch of the United States Armed Forces. The park is open to the public daily, sunrise to sunset.
About the Foundation
The foundation maintains Veterans Freedom Park as a place of remembrance and community for veterans, their families, and the public.
The National Veterans Freedom Park Foundation Inc was established in Cary, North Carolina, and recognized as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in October 2003. Its purpose is to build and care for a permanent memorial to those who have served in the United States Armed Forces.
Veterans Freedom Park was dedicated in 2013. The foundation works in partnership with the Town of Cary Parks & Recreation to maintain the memorial and to hold three public observances each year.
The Freedom Tower
At the center of the park stands the Freedom Tower, a 90-foot spire of white granite assembled in Mt. Airy, North Carolina, and lit at night by LED lighting. Five seals at its base represent the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard.
The foundation is supported by gifts from the community. Donations pay for the care of the tower and its lighting, the flags of the memorial courtyard, the annual ceremonies, and upkeep of the grounds.
